About
A bit about me and what I do.
Who I Am
I'm Isaac Peterson, a software developer with a background in Java backend development and a current focus on full-stack web development using various frontend and backend technologies. Despite my day-to-day work in web development using Node.js, React, and other tools, I wanted this site to remain classically built with just HTML and CSS. Simple!
Outside of day-to-day software work, I'm deeply interested in game development — specifically with the Godot Engine. I have always wanted to build video games and have had a really tough time finding the motivation to keep building. After trying all the different engines and tools, Godot has been the one that keeps me coming back.
This site is a hub for all of it: projects, writing, and whatever else I find worth putting on the internet. Not sure what I want to do with it yet, but it may just become a hodgepodge of all my interests before long.
Interests
I'm interested in software architecture, performance, developer tooling, and building things that hold up over time rather than things that are impressive in a demo.
Game development sits at a unique intersection of engineering and craft that I find endlessly interesting. I've been using Godot for personal projects and enjoy how accessible it makes building interactive experiences without a massive engine between you and your ideas.
I have also really fallen in love with open source over the years. There is something about a community of people building things together in the open that I find really inspiring.
Welp
